# Examples

Concrete extensions in real scenarios — a code-review subagent, a lint skill, a Postgres MCP server connection, and a pack that bundles them.

Each one is a single install that shows up in every coding agent you've
configured.

## A code-review subagent

You want a focused reviewer that checks a diff and reports back without crowding
your main conversation. Install a [subagent](/docs/subagents):

```bash
axm subagents install @acme/subagents/code-reviewer
axm sync
```

Then delegate to it from your primary agent:

```text
Have the code-reviewer subagent check my changes before I open a PR.
```

The subagent reads the diff in its own context and returns only its findings.

## A lint skill

You want your agent to apply your team's lint conventions on demand. Install a
[skill](/docs/skills):

```bash
axm skills install @acme/skills/lint
axm sync
```

The next time you ask the agent to clean up a file, it matches the skill's
`description`, pulls the full `SKILL.md` into context, and applies your rules —
no extra prompting.

## A Postgres MCP server connection

You want the agent to query a real database instead of guessing at the schema.
The Postgres MCP server is external; what you install is the
[connection](/docs/mcp-servers) that lets your agent reach it:

```bash
axm mcps install @acme/mcps/postgres
axm sync
```

The connection references your `DATABASE_URL` by name, so it's safe to commit.
Now the agent can inspect tables and run read-only queries while it works:

```text
Using the postgres connection, show the columns on the orders table.
```

## A pack bundling all three

You want a teammate to get the whole review setup in one step. Bundle the
subagent, the skill, and the connection into a [pack](/docs/packs):

```json
{
  "owner": "@acme",
  "type": "pack",
  "name": "review-kit",
  "version": "1.0.0",
  "dependencies": {
    "@acme/subagents/code-reviewer": "^1.0.0",
    "@acme/skills/lint": "^1.0.0",
    "@acme/mcps/postgres": "^1.0.0"
  }
}
```

Now a single install gives the whole team the vetted, version-pinned set:

```bash
axm packs install @acme/packs/review-kit
axm sync
```

One command, and the code-review subagent, the lint skill, and the Postgres
connection are all live across every agent they use. Uninstalling the pack
cleans up the three members it brought in.
